Do you know the story of Karen Silkwood?
Today is the 37th anniversary of her passing. Since the time when I was a young child first watching the film Silkwood, I have over and over again been captivated by Karen's story. Her's is a story of strength-of-character, of bravery, and determination to do the right thing...in spite of opposing greed and corruption. Karen has left us all with an amazing story to reflect upon -- to be inspired by, and hopefully learn from.
Below is a wonderful (5-part) documentary that adds even more to what was depicted in the 1983 movie.
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on and reading The Killing of Karen Silkwood -- it has received such good reviews, some of which state that this book fills in a lot of the information that the movie simply did not cover.
My heart goes out to Karen's family today ♥
