Well I think it's about time to "break" my long stretch of non-blog entry with an update on what's been happening with us; What a rollercoaster it's been! I'll give you the quick version:
So, we are not manufacturing chocolate anymore (at least not at this time); there was high demand for it, but it just wasn't in the cards for us to be continuing at that time. So manufacturing raw "cacao" is on hold, at least at the moment.
Shortly after stopping chocolate production, I picked up my own home based business. For the past 6 months I have been an independent Avon/Mark rep, and I LOVE it! I have always loved a lot of the products that Avon has to offer, plus the company has always been close to my heart...my mom and I did Avon together when I was in high school. The Avon business so much better and easier now, especially with the advent of the internet: Check out my Avon website HERE
We have recently moved to southern Oregon (Grants Pass), and we are loving it here. It's SO beautiful in this area, and we have a HOUSE (I've always wanted a house) for much less money than what we were trying to pay for an apartment in southern California. This is the perfect size town; there's plenty to do, and nice shopping...but small enough that you have a sense of community, and connectedness to people; plus there isn't the CRAZINESS of all the MASSES of people that are in SoCal. I LOVE our neighbors; everyone is SO nice...and it seems that almost everyone who lives here is what here they call an "Oregon Transplant"--People who moved here from elsewhere (usually somewhere in California).
We've been here for almost 2 months now, and I'm still getting us settled...putting the last (less important things) away in our house...when I get a minute to do it.
Dominic has a job at a local herb company...he's been there for about 2 weeks, now.
I'm re-starting my Avon business here...building up a customer base here in the local area. I guess moving wasn't so awful for my business (although, I thought it was)...now I have customers all over the place! But it has been a challenge, re-starting it up here, just because I've been so busy doing other things. Ironically, I have moved next door to another Avon lady; which turns out to be a good thing; she is SUPER cool, and we can help each other out. My kids love her kids, too...and vice-versa. GREAT!
So here we are...further along on our journey...living in Oregon, and learning our way!
