I like Twitter. No, let me re-phrase that...I REALLY like Twitter. Maybe it's because of the potential behind it; it can be a really powerful tool, depending on who you are 'following' ~ you can create your own 'news stream' from real people, sending out "right-to-the-point" information (140 characters or less), in REAL time.
As much as I am a HUGE Twitter-fan, I also sometimes crave a 'smaller', more intimate conversation with my niche-specific peeps. Here is a brand new micro-blogging community specifically for people with an interest in Health & Living Foods. Have a look at the up-to-the-moment conversation that is happening at www.LivingTweets.com:
In case you missed my ‘invisible’ blog posts towards the end of Rawkathon – There were some fantastic interviews in the final days…I’m hoping you had a chance to catch some really great ones! I’m looking forward to getting some videos of my own out soon, it’s been quite a week, and I’ve got a lot to talk about…way too much to put into a text blog-post.
My most exciting (personal) news is that since I had interviewed for Kevin Gianni’s job opening 2 weeks ago, they have accepted me to be a part of their team! Wooo-hooo! I certainly hope to ‘blow them away’ with my skills, and I’m sure to be learning a lot from being more a part of what they are doing.
We’ve had an interesting Halloween holiday, which I’ll definitely have to touch on later! Let’s just say for now, that it is definitely the time for us to create new, BETTER Halloween traditions, ones that are more conducive to setting a healthy example for our precious children! ~ This too is exciting, and I think that I have some pretty good ideas…I want to know any ideas that you have, too!
The interviews last night were incredible; it’s becoming more apparent how valuable this entire Rawkathon project that Kevin Gianni has put together, truly is! All of us, collectively, with our information and personal experience with a healthier lifestyle have a HUGE message for the ailing S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) world (at least the ones who are ready for it).
If you haven’t seen the interviews from Matt Monarch, and Karen Knowler yet…they will be available for the next few (very few) hours; until 5pm PST / 8pm EST. Aside from that, bringing our focus onto today’s interviews – Cherie Soria & Viktoras Kulvinskas!
I most recently saw Victoras (not in person) on ABC’s show, 20/20. You may have seen this little “expose” on raw food. In fact, it didn’t have much to do about raw food at all, it was more about some extreme examples of eating disorders (Victoras not one of them), people who had happened to “latch on” to the raw food lifestyle as part of their disorder. Like the media OFTEN does, putting a “spin” on whatever kind of message they would like to portray – in this case it was showing the world how awful a raw food diet is; Oh, Puh-LEEZ!
That interviewer had already made his decision about Victoras and his lifestyle before the interview even started; it actually made the interviewer look like a fool, not to mention aggressive…continually backing Victoras into a corner, and frankly, just being plain rude. I would be interested in seeing an UNEDITED version of that interview. Oh and, by the way, from Matt Monarch’s interview last night…did Matt not imply that he too had been interviewed by 20/20? Wasn’t Matt also saying something about his interview with 20/20 having went really well, and that he was “really on” that day? How very interesting that 20/20 chose not to use ANY of Matt’s interview – because I saw 20/20, and wasn’t even aware that Matt had even been interviewed for that segment! Wondering where the footage is for Matt’s 20/20 interview, wouldn’t I love to get my hands on that!
Anyway…enough ranting, I’ll leave that job to…what was that interviewers name again? (not you, Kevin)!
I would however be interested in seeing large media coverage on SUCCESSFUL raw-foodists (there are more than PLENTY, including Viktoras, by the way)! This positive perspective in the media is happening on occasion now, in today’s world of “what’s new with raw-food”. Wondering if 20/20 would be interested in redeeming themselves by interviewing people that raw food has actually helped (the numbers are largely on THAT side of the scale, I know)!
In the meantime, I’ll keep watching Rawkathon…at least for this week. ;-P
